Inventory task scanning

Table of contents

Introduction

In the Ongoing WMS, inventory tasks are used if you want to take stock of your entire warehouse or a large part of it (say several aisles). Inventory tasks allow you to define which locations are to be counted, and then keep track of the work as you go along.

You may perform the inventory counts using a scanner. This increases accuracy and cuts down on paperwork as the counts are transferred immediately from the scanner to the WMS.

Scanning workflow

When using a scanner to perform an inventory task, the workflow is as follows:

  1. Choose an inventory task.
  2. Scan a location.
  3. Scan an article.
  4. Enter the quantites.
  5. Back to step 2.
This is repeated until all locations have been counted.
