Integration between Ongoing WMS and nShift Returns

With an integration between nShift Returns and Ongoing WMS you can reduce costs of warehouse handling and turn your customers' returns into increased revenue!

nShift Returns (formerly Returnado) is a return management system and part of nShift’s end-to-end delivery management solutions portfolio. nShift Returns tracks the return at every step from customer to warehouse. The integration contributes to a cost-effective return management in Ongoing WMS and better control of the returned goods.

Through nShift Returns, the return will become a return order in Ongoing WMS. A warehouse worker can then efficiently process the return using prefilled information from nShift and put the goods away in the warehouse using an optimized processes consisting of a trolley with goods from multiple returned order. Thereby significantly reducing the time to process an order and the time spent putting the items back on the shelf. Moreover, thanks to functionalities in Ongoing WMS, the goods can become sellable directly when scanning it onto the trolley!

Getting Started

To set up the integration in Ongoing WMS you will need to provide the following details:
  • User for the API.
  • Password connected to the provided user.
  • Market code which will connect sales orders exported from Ongoing WMS to the correct market in nShift Returns.

Workflow

The integration from nShift Returns to Ongoing WMS works as follows:
  1. A sales order is created in nShift Returns. This order will either be created by the integration from Ongoing WMS, or it will be created where the orders are usually created for the customer. Usually this will be from an ecommerce platform such as Shopify or WooCommerce. When configuring the integration in Ongoing WMS, be sure to activate the setting that will export orders to nShift Returns if you want Ongoing WMS to be the source of the sales orders.
  2. A customer creates a return order in nShift Returns and books a return freight option.
  3. The return order is fetched to Ongoing WMS by the integration, with information about the advised return. This will contain info on articles, quantities, and return causes. Note that it will also contain info on what delivery order the return order is connected to. This means that Ongoing WMS automatically has a connection to the return to a delivery order.
  4. A warehouse worker handles the order using an efficient process and puts the goods away for multiple returns and once using an optimized processes consisting of a cart with goods from multiple returned order Now the goods is already sellable in your different sales channels.
  5. When the warehouse has handled the return the updated information will be sent to nShift Returns from where further actions such as refunds can be performed. Note that since the goods is already sellable in the previous step, putting the goods back on the shelves can be done when the warehouse staff is less busy.
Note: if the sales order is created from a third party integration there might be some configuration needed in Ongoing WMS in order to connect the sales order in nShift Returns with the sales order in Ongoing WMS.
