Integration between Ongoing WMS and Warematic

Warematic is a mathematical optimization solution for e-commerce and 3PL warehouses that makes manual picking faster and more efficient — without changing how your warehouse staff work.

Using advanced order combination and route optimization based on a digital representation of your warehouse layout, Warematic determines which orders should be picked together and the most efficient way to execute each picking round. Typical result: 20–40% shorter picking time, less walking, less administration and higher picking capacity.

Verify before you buy. Warematic offers a free simulation using your own warehouse and order data, so you can verify the potential before making a decision. They create a digital twin of your warehouse, fetch historical pick orders from Ongoing WMS and compare your actual historical picking routes with the optimized routes generated by Warematic using the same order data.

Get Started

  1. In Ongoing WMS you create an API User for the Warematic integration.
  2. In Warematic’s web-based user interface you quickly create a digital twin of your warehouse. The design is normally finished within a few hours and is something Warematic can help you with. Via the integration you can verify that the digital twin contains all relevant warehouse locations from Ongoing.
  3. In Warematic you then set up the different trucks and picking carts you use, and the weight and volume constraints for these.
  4. Activate Warematic.

Normally customers start with a one-way integration, where orders are fetched and optimized by Warematic but not sent back to Ongoing. This way the process can be verified before going live.

Key capabilities

Smart Order Combination

Warematic analyzes where the products in each order are located within the warehouse and evaluates millions of possible combinations to determine which orders should be picked together. It considers the geographical relationship between items, as well as picking carts, trucks, warehouse constraints and operational priorities. The result is optimized combinations of orders that can be picked in efficient routes, minimizing unnecessary travel while making better use of existing picking capacity.

Digital Twin

The Warematic Digital Twin replicates your warehouse layout and picking operation using your own data. It provides the foundation for simulation and optimization, allowing you to compare your current picking operation with Warematic’s optimized solution before implementation.

Intelligent Traffic Management

Warematic considers aisle access, travel directions and equipment restrictions when combining orders and planning routes. For example, the weight and volume of ordered articles are evaluated when pick orders are assigned to a picking cart.

Advanced Constraint Handling

Warematic takes the warehouse’s physical and operational constraints into account when creating order combinations and picking routes. This includes aisle access, one-way travel directions, picking cart and truck types, weight and volume limits, customer-specific order separation, priorities, departure times and other business rules. By incorporating these constraints directly into the optimization, Warematic creates picking routes that are efficient, practical and operationally feasible.

Simulate Warehouse Changes

Simulate the impact of changing your warehouse layout or purchasing new picking carts with Warematic before making the change, enabling data-driven decisions before you invest time or money.

Easy implementation – no training required

Warematic has a standard integration with Ongoing WMS, making implementation quick and straightforward. It connects directly to your existing order flow and automatically optimizes pick orders. Your warehouse staff continue working exactly as before. There are no new procedures, no additional training and no disruption to your operations.

Data Flow

  • Orders are continuously retrieved from Ongoing and processed by Warematic.
  • Warematic identifies where the products included in each order are located in the warehouse and uses this information to determine the most efficient combinations of orders to pick together.
  • By analyzing millions of possible combinations, Warematic creates pick orders with routes designed to minimize the total travel distance.
  • The optimized pick orders are then sent back to Ongoing, ready to be used in the daily warehouse operation.
