Transporter addons
Table of contents
Introduction
When you create a shipping label with a transporter, you can sometimes book addons such as ID check or Not to outdoor parcel locker. If you have integrated Ongoing WMS with a shipping platform, the integration might support managing such addons directly from Ongoing WMS.
Currently not all integrations support transporter addons. Please contact us if you want to check if a particular integration has support for it.
At a high level, addons work like this. First you prepare all the addons that you might want to use:
- Determine which addons you would like to use.
- Find out the codes for each addon. You may have to consult with the shipping platform or us to find out these codes.
- You map each addon to a specific code.
Then, you can start using the addons in two ways:
- You can either manually choose which addons should be booked on a particular order, or
- You can set up so that certain orders automatically get certain addons.

Mapping an addon to a code
Each addon corresponds to a particular code. This code is determined by the shipping platform. For instance, the addon ID check may have code IDCHK on shipping platform "X".
To map an addon to a code, go to Registers ⇒ Transport companies. Edit a transport company.
If the integration supports addons, there will be a section at the bottom of the page called Transporter addon service code mapping. (If you cannot see this section, the integration does not currently support addons. Please contact us in this case.)
Click New to add a new mapping. In the page that appears, you will be asked for the addon (ID check) and its corresponding code (IDCHK).
Setting an addon
An addon can be set in two different ways:
- Either the addon is set directly on the order, or
- The addon is set as a default addon for the transporter contract.
To set an addon directly on an order, edit the order and click on Show all fields. You will now see checkboxes for all addons, where you can select which addons you want to use for the order.
If you want an addon to always be applied when a certain transporter contract and service is used, then you can set the addon as a default addon. Go to Registers ⇒ Transporter agreements. Edit an agreement. Click Manage default transporter addons. You will be taken to a dialog where you can define which addons should be default for each transporter service.
Transporter assignment
Furthermore, if you are currently using the transporter assignment feature to automatically assign transporters to orders, you also automatically assign addons at the same time that the transporter is assigned.
Go to Registers ⇒ Transporter assignments and edit a rule. Click on Transporter addons. There you can choose which addons will be set on the order.
Putting it all together
Once you've mapped each addon to a code and have created an order which has an addon (which you either set manually or using defaults), you can now send the order to the shipping platform. Please verify that the correct addon is actually booked.
